How to involve students in quality assurance of education?

In our work on quality assurance in education, we regularly participate in various events and exchanges of experience. One of the recent ones was a workshop held as part of the international project ETHICS – Responsible Conduct of Research, which aims to support quality and integrity in higher education and research in Georgia.

On Friday, September 5, 2025, a successful workshop on quality assurance (QA) in education and research took place at Masaryk University (MUNI) in Brno. The event was organized in cooperation with partner institutions and organizations, including ENAI, VU Amsterdam, and CUNI.

Thanks to our colleague, Pavlína Studená, who presented how we have set up the system for assuring and evaluating the quality of education at Masaryk University, with a particular focus on involving students in these processes.

The workshop also included a simulation of a programme board meeting, during which participants had the opportunity to practically experience how decisions about changes in study programmes are made, how student feedback is handled, and what roles various stakeholders play in these processes.

It was great to see how many parallels and differences exist between our university and those in Georgia, and how much inspiration we can share with each other.
